Great service - some of the staff speak English, and will help with making phone calls and booking bus transportation. Our room had almost everything we wanted, including microwave, toaster/oven, and drinking water (one 20 l. jug was provided). Great location - in tower 2 on the 11th floor. All rooms in this tower have ocean view, with large covered balconies that have shade for most of the day. The pool facilities, hot tubs, grounds and restaurants are also very good. Restaurants are more expensive than some others, but serve tasty food and in a wonderful setting. The beach is wonderful - good for swimming, lots of activity (including traditional fishermen), excellent walking, pelicans fishing, and with spectacular sunsets. Sure, there are lots of vendors but they aren't aggressive. About the only complaints I have are that the gym is closed between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and there's no wi-fi in the rooms. Nice resort, good food, helpful staff, some didn't speak fluid English, but they tried hard. Nice evening lounge with great music & the pool areas were wonderful. Rooms were very clean. The check in process was long & painful. I think they have specific times for check-in based on the flights that come into Santa Marta. Other than that a great place to stay. From 655beverlyr.
