Just returned from a week vacation. After reading the many previous reviews we were really hesitant on this one. Food good. Beach excellent. Rooms good. Definitely request a room facing away from the pool area if you are not a party animal. Staff were awesome. Ernesto in the lobby bar and Hilda from the pool bar were exceptional in their customer service. Location was excellent. Although the manager is extremely visible, it would be great for him to interact with the patrons. Yes, you can definitely see the changes happening. Lounge chairs were an excellent upgrade and was never a problem while we were there. Shade at the pool is a huge problem though. Some umbrellas ... or even making some pallapas around the pool would go a very long way ... this was probably why so few people used the pool, except for late afternoon or evening. Awesome wade pool next to the large one for serious tanning while staying cool ... just lie down and relax. Entertainment staff were excellent and the dancers are exceptional. Unfortunately our room faced a garden and then the road so no good views, better get one facing the pool. Cleanliness average. Restaurant food OK, everywhere in Cuba variety of food is limited and this was no exception but nice enough especially breakfast. Nice pools and fabulous beach. Very nice staff.
