4.6 "A very pleasant stay"

We stayed two nights here during our recent tour of Cuba. The house and room were very pleasant and we had an ensuite bathroom. We enjoyed two breakfasts and evening meals, all of which were delicious. There was an 'honesty fridge' and our host - who speaks English- made us Mojitos (3 CUCs each) which we enjoyed whilst sitting on rocking chairs on the verandah, being entertained by the very varied passing 'traffic'! He also arranged for our horse ride (which was great fun) to be brought forward a couple of hours so that we wouldn't swelter in the mid-day heat. The location is ideal for visiting the village, and very quiet at night, although we were woken by cockerels!. From AlisonJW Colchester, Essex. Stayed November 2015, travelled as a couple.

4.8 "100% good experience"

We were sceptical to move into a private home after having stayed in a 5* hotel in Havana. Tony and his son met us at the bus in the main street and carried our luggage to the casa. Him and wife Aracelys are the most wonderful people you can possibly imagine to stay with. Visible when needed, in-visible when not. For dinner we could choose anything for main. We chose chicken. "Allright, chicken you'll get, and leave the rest up to us" was the message. We got a delightful meal. The soup was fantastic (I emptied the rest of the bowl after the desert). Tony went in town and got us a great, cold bottle of Chilean chardonnay. The street is parallel to the main street and sitting on their veranda you watch Cuban life go by: one horse carriage after the other, street vendors on donkeys or bicycles. You just sit there with your camera and capture this world of yesteryear. And enjoying unsurpassed hospitality. Thumbs up for Tony and Aracelys. From Viggotje Naarden, The Netherlands. Stayed November 2013, travelled as a couple.
