The Hotel Sierra Maestra on the Carretera Central, 1.5 km from the city of Bayamo. It is quite large, as you can imagine.

What you can see is the marble statue, more than 3 meters high, on the main street. Recorded by the Cuban craftsman Pedro Pulido, which states: “Peace is not white or black, is blue”. It can be something of a mystery but is the largest of Bayamo, it certainly is.

The spacious Hotel, has offices, restaurant, bar, lunchroom, cafeteria, pool, billiards – room has 116 standard rooms, is perfect to please all visitors, the hotel is relatively ecological and account travel programs nature.

Independent travelers can take this as a convenient place for the path that leads to Santiago de Cuba.

4.8 "Sierra Maestra Hotel, Bayamo, Cuba"

We were based at the hotel for a number of days in January of 2013 as part of the Southern Cross Brigade to Cuba organized through the friendship societies of Cuba, Australia & New Zealand. http://www.cubabrigade.org.au Bayamo is a fascinating town and there are heaps of opportunities for great day trips from there too. The Hotel was great. Good buffet style food, great bars & music. The hotel has a pool although we were so busy we didn't get to take advantage of it. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful & friendly. A small souvenir shop with postal services provided excellent service too. DHL is next door if you need to send parcels overseas. 3.2 "OK Hotel"

Stayed here for one night on our Explore group tour. We didn't have a lot of time here as we arrived in the evening and then went out for a meal. Did not have any problems with the room and slept well. Had a nice welcome cocktail on arrival and it was very pleasant having drinks by the swimming pool later in the evening. Breakfast was buffet style with reasonable choice. From Dennis P Merseyside. Stayed March 2014, travelled with friends.
