This was my 3rd stay at the Rancho San Vincent. The situation has somewhat improved in the past 12 months. This hotel has a new building across the road that is more like a traditional hotel with rooms in a 3-floor building. This building does not have the charm of the individual older bungalows, but being brand new they are somewhat more comfortable. The main problem seems to be that many rooms do not have a window per say, so they are kind of depressing. Also my room had a VERY strong sewer smell coming from the shower, probably due to a poor plumbing job; I thus had to close the bathroom door at all times, which was very hard to close because it was not levelled properly... Otherwise the TV had one channel in English (CNN) and it was overall very clean. The main improvement is regarding the wild dogs situation, which now appears to be under control. Food was a buffet this year and the choice was limited but OK, still far from good most dishes being cooked but cold... There is now WiFi but you need to buy an access card. Wonderfully situated with trees surrounding hotel and pool. Our room was quiet enough and away from the road but nothing special. The shower was the same level as the rest of the bathroom, so water leaked everywhere. Breakfast was pretty awful apart from the eggs cooked to order. Very pleasant sitting round the pool.
