3.8 "Best hotel we stayed at in Cuba"

Joint venture hotel. Cuba 5 star. Excellent rooms, bathrooms, laundry service etc. Lots of places to eat and drink in the hotel. Three swimming pools. Only downside is service is not quite up to European standards. Our tour guide said the best time to go into the restaurant is at the same time as the Spanish manager - then the service is excellent, it slips a bit when he is not there. Breakfast buffet was very good. The Italian restaurant was good in the evening too. About 10 of us went together and they managed to serve hot fresh food quickly and efficiently - often unusual in a government run restaurant. There do not seem to be enough lifts and if you are on a high floor it can sometimes take quite a while for lifts to arrive. From YorkshireLass42 UK. Stayed November 2015, travelled as a couple.

3.2 "Large Chain Hotel"

We stayed here for 3 nights during a tour of Cuba. The main buffet restaurant is very busy with the ambience of a canteen despite the piano music. Our tables were situated near the piano and we found the sound of this a bit intrusive especially at Breakfast. The food left a lot to be desired. Some popular items disappeared never to be re-stocked and other items did not appear to be very fresh. The rooms were of a decent standard and were clean. The pool area was very pleasant during the day. Hotels in Cuba seem to have a running theme of bad lifts and this hotel was no exception. This hotel would only be classed as 5 star in Cuba. From annteke Brighton, United Kingdom. Stayed November 2015, travelled as a couple.
