A large,international style hotel. Buffet style dining - for breakfast and dinner the food cooked fresh was very good, but the rest of the buffet was generally not so attractive. By Cuban standards acceptable though. The rooms were reasonably spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is not very close to the Old Town, but is close to Revolution Square etc. however, taxis are plentiful and cheap in Havana. To be honest this hotel could have been anywhere in the world, but it's a reasonable basis from which to explore Havana. Stayed at this hotel as part of our 3 night stay in Havana. The hotel is a little way out from Old Havana. We used cabs costing from 5 to 10 CUC depending on how well you can haggle. I must say it is disappointing to find out that there was a free shuttle available. I only read from management response on someone else's review as I come to write this one!!!. We used the concierge/tourist desks many times to find out where to go and what to do and it was never once mentioned!!! They were helpful in arranging a 2 hour tour in a classic car for 60CUC from the hotel though. The room was clean and large, ample space for 2 ladies. Breakfast had a good range, loved the omelette station and there was a great selection of fruit however the bread was stale daily. Internet was expensive at 14 CUC for 2 hours but valid for 24 hours, but only useable in the lobby and 1st floor. The pool was attractive and enjoyable with plenty of towels available.
