4.0 "Organic and clean stay"

The original all straw palappas are great- The only problem is when the birds decide to make a nest in your roof- and the straw is shaken into your room and on your bed= all day long- and then all night long- which is BIZARRE. Aside from that the room is comfortable- light is low but shower and bathroom area is good- Two of us shared a double room and it was comfortable. The deck and hammocks are ideal and the beach front is very nice. From Victoria C Sarasota. Stayed June 2016, travelled with family.

4.6 "VIVA MAHEKAL, VIVA MEXICO"

This resort is in a perfect location in Playa. At the north end of busy 5th avenue, close to all the action if you want it, but it offers a very relaxed and beautifully landscaped setting right on the beach. We had a garden room in the center of resort, that was nicely decorated with a very comfortable king size bed. The breakfast buffet was great at Las Olas overlooking a grand pool and the sea every morning.The other two restaurants Fuego and Cocina were equally as good for dinner. The entire staff was terrific, I wish I could remember all their names but a few standouts were Rogelio, our waiter every morning for breakfast, Marcus and Eduardo at the Bolis bar who gave me a education in tequilla. I hope to return to Mahekal and see my amigos again someday. From michael c Stayed May 2016, travelled as a couple.
