Just returned end of April after a two week stay at Tainos. This is our fourth year in a row staying at Tainos. I understand that the hotel has changed hands and I did note that the entertainment was not up to par. Previously we enjoyed cuban music throughout the day and later on the patio in the evening. The staff dancers would be out getting everyone up and dancing and fun had by all. For the entire two weeks we listened to the same two entertainment groups the cuban band was good but the solo female singer was terrible if I wanted to listen to Abba I could do that at home. The staff is another matter they are absolutely fabulous Meylang, Esperanza, Yudel, Reisel, William, Claudia, Yadaisy, George, Rey, Ramon, Ernesto, Giselle, Tamara, Betty, Heidi, Julio it is like coming home. These are the people that make your holiday great. The staff is like our second family. We look forward to next year.

Just returned from a week at Tainos on a Sunwing package. Flight from vancouver arrives at 4am an ungoodly hour by any standards which Sunwing really should re-think. Spent our first week touring in Havana and Trinidad so arrived at hotel by taxi mid-afternoon and recieved prompt service (bellman even appologised for not being on hand to assist us out of the taxi) and our room was ready for immediate occupancy. Had a ground level unit in bungalow 28 just steps from the pool two bars, beach path and snack buffet. We found food, facilities and service to be comparable to previous experience in Mexican All-Inclusives.. The big plus here is the entertainment- live music at the pool during lunch, on the restaurant plaza in evening and amazing floor shows in the theater each evening. First the highlights ... the beach is awesome, the pool is very good and the bars, food and activities staff are very friendly and accommodating and made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed our 1 week stay in November 2015 with them. We stayed in a bungalow and recommend you pay the extra few bucks as well worth it as the rooms were clean and spacious and the daily maid service was very good. Now the not so good, the food was OK by Cuban standards, and we could always find something that we enjoyed but nothing stood out. The evening entertainment was very good 2 of the 5 nights we attended (Tropicana and Cuban singing and dancing), the other 3 nights we walked out as the entertainment was taking guests up on stage and having contests.
