Built in 1977 on top of an old fort that was strategically located to protect the area. In this place located the first city of Cuba, a place attacked by pirates and buccaneers that lurked the waters of the Caribbean. This large yellow building is located on a hill that surrounds the city and it is for this reason that the Hotel El Castillo is one of the favourite places to stay among travellers. The decoration of El Castillo has influence from Africa to Scotland, so it is not only an interesting place to stay but also to admire.
There are 85 steps to reach the hotel from its base, which makes it an incredible point of view to see the splendour of Baracoa, one of the few places still untouched in Cuba.
We recommend a visit to Baracoa and its national parks, which are different from other places in Cuba, its rivers and parks will certainly keep you entertained while enjoying the warmth of its native people.
