3.8 "Great beaches and Lobster !"

It may take a little time to reach this place but it is well worth the journey. Beautiful beaches great sea food good accommodation and an ideal stop after trekking through Vinales. We wanted a simple place in a wilderness without concrete. Many hotels on the coast were 1970 designed and the reputation for service not great. Cayo Levisa was a wonderful exception. the seafood particularly the lobster was really good and simple. Breakfasts were adequate and great by Cuba standards. Nothing like smoking a Cohiba watching the sunset enjoying a local tipple of rum. The rooms are large clean cabins and it is worth splashing out an extra $30 bucks a night for the new ones on the beach. The island has one place to stay and is reached by boat from the mainland. We will return but hurry before the invation from the US. From Mark O Stockholm, Sweden. Stayed January 2016, travelled with family.

4.0 "Beautiful and peaceful location - but bring your own bottled water!"

I stayed in Cayo Levisa with 5 friends for 3 nights in September. The location is a beautiful idyllic beach, with white sands and clear sea. we stayed in the cheapest cabins but they were still very nice. The food was a buffet for every mean, more choice than we had elsewhere in Cuba but it did get a bit repetitive. The only drawbacks we expereinced were being told on arrival about kayaks being available - however there was a lot of confusion when we asked about them and it turns out they aren't available in low season - it would be better if the hotel staff knew this. On two occasions we bought bottled water which tasted absolutely horrible and had to be returned to the bar. The barman became quite angry with us, and refused to try the water even though other guests agreed with us. He eventually stopped trying to charge us for the bottles we didn't want, but it became quite awkward and was pretty bad customer service. However all the other staff we experienced were very lovely and kind. From Rose R London, United Kingdom. Stayed September 2015, travelled with friends
