The hotel we booked failed to tell us there was no elevator. We were so happy to find Ananda. Understated luxury, beautiful with a zen quality. Camilo showed us around, answered many questions. After we checked in he followed up on issues and never let anything slip. Denver was excellent too knowing how to make decisions with the best interest of both client and Ananda. We had a couple of glitches but they were rectified. We have already told our Friends they will be delighted with the staff and the hotel. We would return and would hope to see the same staff. Understated elegance. The hotel sits behind an unassuming facade. Our room was huge, well appointed and very well designed. The 2 pools are appropriately quaint and beautiful with well designed, with comfortable loungers all around. Breakfast was terrific and the hotel is very well located. The Ananda strikes an excellent balance between casual luxury and local culture. Not for the traveler who needs the predictable homogeneous international chain hotel.
