City Tour With Monserrate and Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira

At the agreed time, a member of our staff will meet you at the hotel to take you on a tour around the historical centre of the city.

The first stop at Plaza de Bolivar, we will see the most important buildings of the city, such as the National Capitol, the “Casa de Los Comuneros”, “Casa de Nariño” which is the Presidential house; and the Santa Clara Church Museum. The tour includes a visit to the Gold Museum, which exhibits about 34,000 pieces of metalwork from various Hispanic cultures and a visit to the House Museum Quinta de Bolivar, the house belonged to Simon Bolivar. The tour continues to the iconic symbol of Bogota, the Monserrate Hill rising up to 3,152 above sea level, to visit the sanctuary where you will find the statue of the Lord of Miracles. From there it is possible to enjoy the best view of Bogota.

The tour continues through the Bogota´s Savanna to the nearby town of Zipaquira where you´ll have a stop to enjoy a delicious typical lunch. After the lunchtime, we´ll take you to the Salt Cathedral. The Cathedral was built in an underground salt deposit at 180 metres below the surface where a Chapel is. This enclosure considered the first wonder of Colombia and an architectonic jewel of the modernity. Return to Bogota.
